Abstract

This paper looks for the traces of biblical women as mystics and theologians, considering three aspects: Wise Women and theologians interpret certain events from their knowledge and their religious experience, e. g. Abigail (1 Sam 25) and Martha (Jo 11). Ruth and Lydia are exemplary women, who realize their experience of God in their everyday life. Prophets, from Miriam to Mary, Jesus’ mother, speak and act as inspired messengers of God. Mary Magdalene’s extraordinary encounter with the resurrected Christ turns her into the apostola apostolorum.
