Prof. Markus Tiwald offers his students and anyone with an interest in academia Sunday evening masses in the historic setting of the Romanesque Ruprechtskirche. The name of the initiative is no coincidence: ‘Town & Gown’ combines an engaging ‘city pastoral’ (hence ‘Town’ for the city) with academic theology (hence ‘Gown’ for the academic gown). Students and the city centre pastoral ministry come together in the historic setting of Ruprechtskirche to create an oasis of reflection amidst the vibrant city life. Such a Sunday evening offers families and young adults in particular a spiritual start to the new working week after a relaxing weekend.
